My 60CSX for a 60CX. The only difference between the two is that the csx has an electronic compass and barometric altimeter, both of which are worse than useless.
Although the electronic compass can be turned off, the barometric altimeter cannot. I didn't realize this until standing atop Pike's Peak and the altimeter on the csx was 500 feet off.
Why would Garmin put such a useless feature in an otherwise excellent device? The altitude from a 4 sat fix has an accuracy of +/- 10 meters. The accuracy of a barometric altimeter is always unknown due to changes in atmospheric pressure.
While the 60csx can be calibrated to an estimated GPS fix, why isn't this the primary method? Who can remember to do it each time?
