I started off using an iPhone, but eventually bought an etrex Venture HC since I kept running my phone's battery dead. I still use the iphone app for paperless caching and it's great for the spontaneous cache hunt.

I currently use the DeLorme PN-40 for caching. It is a wonderful unit that is very accurate and I love having aerial maps. I love using it because it is user friendly and it comes with Topo 9.0. I use this software to save our tracks when hiking and for multiple of other things.
