Road trip to Disneyworld

If it's about geocaching -- Let's hear it

Road trip to Disneyworld

Postby Gratefulldad » Thu Apr 24, 2008 11:19 am

We're heading to Disney World mid July and I was wondering if there are any "must do caches" on the way down, to or near Orlando? We are going through Atlanta to visit family. The rest of the route is pretty flexable.
I told my wife I have the route planned out and have narrowed the caches down to 430. She said, "Are you serious?!" I was kidding.
Also if there are any trackables that you know want to go to, or come from that direction let me know.

That sounds like fun! We've never cached in Florida but I bet it is a blast. I wonder what effect alligators have on the difficulty rating  .

I did see one cache mentioned om the GC forums called The Temple of Doom in Croom (Golgotha). Looking at the photos and reading the logs it looks like a really neat cache. I know they have some virtuals in the park.

The Florida Geocaching Association also has a list of best caches as voted on by their members, much like Tnt is trying to get started here, that you could check out. I'd post the question in their forums. I bet they could suggest some great ones along your route. Hope that helps.

Hey, thats a great idea! You could place a floating cache in the middle of the gator pond at one of those roadside reptile places. See how fast you can sign the log and replace it. :D

Great idea. I'll check out the florida sites.
