Problem logging cache for Hobbs State Park

Postby Arkienana » Sun Jan 17, 2010 4:35 pm

I am trying to log my find for the cache at Hobbs State park on Geocaching.com but there is no "Log your visit" button. How do I log it then? I am a premium member and have had no problems with any othe cache. I took the travel bug and left SWAG as well as signing the log. Any help would be appreciated.

I just checked and it was there. Maybe a temporary glitch?

This is really wierd. I tried it again and it showed up briefly. Before I could click on it, it disappeared again! Strange glitch.
I'll try again tomorrow but I have a feeling I'm going to end up not getting credit for this find. The site allowed me to log the other seven finds for the day so I know I was logged in correctly. Hmmmm

Found this one with edieo after a day of caching and fun at an event in Harrison. I have been wanting to try this one for a long time. Edieo is now winding up her State Park Challenge Cache and I am just starting mine. We were both so thrilled to have finally gotten in the area to try for this one. We had heard horror stories about how difficult the hike to the cache was. We bushwhacked into the trail from the road. It was rough going, but an absolute blast. The cache site is a real surprise. Edieo made the find and then it was follow our breadcrumbs to get us back out. We were chasing daylight at this point since we wanted to find Withrow park before dark. Thanks for this cache and all of the wonderful state park caches.

Ok I really feel dumb! The page for this cache is wider than any of the other caches I have found. The "Log your visit" button was hiding way off to the right side of the screen. I had to use the slider bar at the bottom of the page to pull it into view. Strange I haven't had to do this before. Oh well problem solved. Thanks for your help!

Blame the latest update from Groundspeak. It's caused a near riot on the main GS forums about how it's messed up some of the cache pages.

I was thinking it was only my profile page. Glad to know I am not the only one seeing it different. I have found one other cache in the past that was too wide and the Log your visit was offs to the side. Never was sure why.

The thing that bothers me most about it all is that the Greasemonkey scripts will no longer work. I've been using them so long now it feels like I went back in time. The site is so much better with them. Maybe they will hurry and make some of the changes their talking about.

I don't use the scripts, but did read that the guy who wrote them was a beta tester for this latest release and was working on updating them once the release became stable.

I did some checking tonight and have found some new scripts. One new one that I like really makes the "Your Profile" page look so much better just by getting rid of the double spacing on all of the logs listed on the page. I made a few changes to the script to fix a few wording issues I did not like also.

Also, Locus Prime has reworked the Add Waypoint Finder script already and I have installed it and it works fine. That was my favorite one.
