We gleefully made our way down the road only to be confronted by a large tree across it.
It was looking like it was too late to attempt our hike and as the minutes ticked by I realized that we wouldn't have time.
We took her advice and hiked the old washed out ATV trail down, and I mean all the way down, to Rock Creek and found the cave. We decided to explore further and came across an old boy scout camp that was used back in the 40's and 50's located in a cave behind a waterfall! It was awesome. All in al we ended up hiking about 1.5 miles down the mountain to the falls with a pretty intense creek crossing (it was cold!). The hard part was coming back up. LOL. It was a great adventure!

If you look just to the right of the water you can see some rocks stacked up. This is the outside of a fireplace the scouts built to stay warm in the cave. This is a picture of the fireplace from inside the cave:
