jclaudii & southerngirl have organized a CITO event at the Long Pool Recreational Area north of Dover in the Ozark National Forest. It's a good way to show those that manage our forests some of the good that geocachers can do. It is even more important now due to the Region 8 policy on cache placement.
It was originally thought that the fee only affected the Ouachita's but in fact it was set down by the Region 8 office which oversees all of the national forests in the SE United States. Including the Ozarks. They're just non compliant at the moment.
I just wanted to urge everyone to attend if your able. We'll be camping there that day and maybe if enough people are interested we could all get together to hunt nearby caches, burn some dogs and eat smores. Yum. Maybe it could be a mini event or something.
