You'll need a program like GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife) which is a great program, or a program like EasyGPS.

Did you get the GSAk powerpoint I sent you? If you choose that route, it'll help you get started.

Whichever program you choose, if you still need help, let me know. I use GSAK now, but used to use EasyGPS.

Good luck.

Paperless caching

I did get the powerpoint, but I already have Easygps...so I cannot find on Easygps how to get the caches I have chosen to download on my palm! All the options I see is send to gps...where else can I look to send the info to the palm? Also, if I use Easygps, will I get all the info from the cache page: difficulty, terrain, hint, description, etc. Thanks.

Cheryl, I just realized I've given you some bad information. You don't use EasyGPS to upload to your Palm.

It's been so long since I used anything other than GSAK, I'd forgotten how I used to do it.

Question? Did you register your version of Cachemate? If so, that'll make things a whole lot easier.

Cachemate comes with a utility called CMConvert that converts your .gpx files from GC.com to .pdb files that your Palm can understand.

I'm assuming you're a premium member of GC and can get pocket queries.

At this point, use CMConvert to open your .gpx file. You'll then save it so you can hotsynch your Palm to it. I name my geocaching files something like "unfound". When you next hotsynch, they'll be loaded into your Palm

And yes, you'll get all that info. The only limitation is that you only get the last 5 logs.

If this doesn't help, I'll be home this evening and evenings the rest of the week. Give me a call at 479-877-9677 and I'll try to talk you through it.
