Murfreesboro AR Caching?

Murfreesboro AR Caching?

Postby teamjandt » Thu Oct 14, 2010 3:28 pm

We"re going to go dig for the "mother of all rocks" this weekend. Lol! I'll probably leave there with nothing but a sore back and hopefully some cool cache stories. Looks like there is an Earth cache at the Park, as well as some good ones around Murfreesboro. There is also a power trail just a few miles North(GC22D6N). Now.....we haven't ever done one, but I understand the attraction for numbers in a short period of time. Since we've been so busy lately and haven't cached much I thought maybe we could grab a few of these just for kicks. My concern is that I know it's just gonna be micros along a siteless dirt road, and we're taking T's daughter with us who I'm afraid might get bored with the numbers game. Heck I'll probably get bored with it. My questions are; 1. Have any of you done a power trail? 2.Have any of you done this power trail or any other caches in the area? I did a bit of looking around with google maps and there are some that look unique. Any suggestions?

I have done this power trail. It is a well planned and thought out trail. Yes it is on a dirt road but very little traffic. The caches are different and hidden in different manners. Some are fairly easy and a few can stump you for a while. There is lots of wildlife to see in the area. Depending on which loop you take, the Laurel loop has a lake and camp site at the end. The Deer Loop is just a loop but still the caches were fun to do. And you do get lots of caches in a short period of time. Have fun if you decide to do this. I haven't gotten to go to the diamond mine park yet but it is on my to do list.

I've done one near Hot Springs Village, AR, it was a lot of fun. There are lots of caches in that area!! It was called Mainhaul Caching. I have some good memories doing it. it was great to be able to beat my daily record.

Unfortunately we didn't get to do the power trail as we ran out of time. RAT90 (T's parents) stayed a few extra days and did both trails. They said it was a lot of fun. We might make a trip back down there before winter just to geocache since we didn't have any luck with the diamond prospecting. It's just a few hours drive and it really is a pretty drive as well.
