I40 TBs Raided

If it's about geocaching -- Let's hear it

I40 TBs Raided

Postby Gruizzer » Sun Apr 26, 2009 4:50 pm

We meet some cachers up in Devil Dens this weekend that said someone is running all the TB caches along I40 and taking all the TBs but not logging them. That is sad. :(

That is so sad. Let's hope it is jsut that they don't have internet access cause they are on holidays in the area and will be logging them soon, or maybe that they are setting up a TB hotel and will be putting all the TBs in there son.

Let's hope its the former. The last thing we need in this world is another TB jail (I mean hotel)

Ok, as a newbie I gotta ask, what is a cache hotel?

You're probably meaning a TB hotel. Some are good places for travelers to exchange travel bugs/coins, others simply hold TBs hostage.

Yes, a TB Hotel is what I meant. Why would they hold them.

They're sometimes called a TB prison because the cache owner places undue restrictions on them, such as "only take one if you leave one". Since a TB is the property of the TB owner, a cache owner has no right to place a restriction like that.

Also, many times you see these "TB hotels" placed in areas that are extremely easy to find. A new cacher finds it as one of his first finds, takes the shiny coins / TBs and either doesn't know how to log them (remember they're somebody's property) or soon quits the game taking the TBs with them.

On the other hand, there are some TB hotels out there - and I'm thinking of one in particular in our area, where the cache owner goes out and mines caches for TBs / coins to place in his cache (which is a very difficult find).
