James doesn't go anywhere with me, period. So there's never a chance of "when we're out somewhere, and there's a cache nearby..." I tried that once when I finally got him to agree to go to Siloam Springs with me to pick up some stuff from Freecycle but, once we got out there and I'd done the pickup, he said to just turn around and go back home once we got gas. And there was at least one or two caches right in the Wal-Mart parking lot! He wouldn't let me get them. He can't handle the heat, and it was a hot day. Wah! That's why I've been hinting to him ever since that the best time to go tis in the middle of the night. But, he still won't go for one reason or another. He agreed two weeks ago that he'd go just once, and if he didn't like it I'd never ask him to go with me again. But, he keeps making excuses to not go.
As for the puzzle caches, I'm the kind of person that once I get really into something, I want to do everything involved that I can physically do. The puzzles tis something that I WANT to figure out but, I haven't a clue how to without begging for a hint to get started. I don' understand where to begin on most of those things, even with TnT's puzzle solving hints posted on these forums. I used to really like working math problems, putting together puzzles (jigsaws), and other kinds of puzzles but, my brain doesn't seem to think that way anymore. And most of the stuff you're expected to know/figure out, I never knew to begin with!
To make matters worse, I don' have a handheld GPS like most cachers seem to use. I bought a Garmin Nuvi 260W originally to help me find addresses and directions for when I go to pickup things from Freecycle, or go to a new place that I'm not familiar with. I don' work, so what money I do get comes from James, and he's already been complaining about me spending money on the GPS (used rebate money to get it) and other stuff I've bought for going caching. I doubt he'd be quiet about me buying ANOTHER GPS device.
I'm physically limited on the kinds of things I can do, so I know the "Mother" cache tis out for me. Walking or standing for more than a few minutes tis extremely painful. Hiking long distances for a cache like that tis impossible. So take out of the list of caches the ones with terrain's of 3-4 or more, and I'm limited on how many caches I can do. Take out the puzzles as well, and the number's just dropped even more. With gas prices being as high as they are, me depending on James for any kind of money to buy gas (he only gives me $200 every two weeks for food, gas, and anything else I need to buy), I'm only looking at caches within 40 miles of my home coordinates, and I doubt I'll ever go farther than 30 miles.
Ok, I'll stop b*tching now.
