How long to keep trackables?

Postby Jffok » Sat Jan 03, 2009 9:08 pm

I thought when I first started reading about geocaching, that a person should try to move a trackable item in two weeks. I am sure this is not always possibe but would like to know what the average is.

About the best you can really do is to move them as soon as you can. Sometimes you're out caching and don't find one big enough to hold a trackable. Other times, you might hold onto one because in a few weeks you're going to be able to help it towards its goal.

That being said, we generally try to move them the next time we go caching. You just do the best you can do. The one thing we don't do is take them to an event and leave them on a "trackables exchange" table. More TBs and coins seem to turn up missing that way than any other.
