Hiding caches for the event.

Just to make sure everyone is on the same page, I've spoken to ChuckWalla (ORR) and this is how we need this to work.

You can make your hides at any time, just include in the "Notes to Reviewer" section that this is for the NWAC event and you would like for it to be published on the morning of Oct 10th by 9AM. We do need to give him time (at least a week) to review the hides and to clear up any issues that may arise. Once he has told you he's going to publish it, please send me the name and GC# so I can add it to a list to put on this web site ready for folks to print out the night before.

Also, I ask that everyone put a 3 digit alphanumeric code on their cache's log page (A2Z, TB6, etc.) that we can use at the event as a confirmation for the finds.

Finally, Frank has asked that each of us send him (Chuck Walla) an email a few days ahead of time to remind him, so he can make arrangements to do the publishing if necessary.

If there are any questions, please, please, please ask first.

This is the first time I am hiding for an event, so these may be silly questions :)

- I assume the 3 digit code can be anything we make up, and we just email it to you once the cache has the go-ahead from Chuck Walla?
- Since the meet-and-greet will be in Tontitown, would you prefer caches to be within a certain radius of there, or anywhere in Benton and Washington County?
- If I do a puzzle cache, since it is primarily for the event (well, not only but you know what I mean), should it be relatively easy to figure out (for example, numbers which can be found out near the geographical cache location, or that most people would know by heart- year Arkansas joined the USA etc-) rather than stuff that would need some time intensive research?

The 3 digit code is for you to make up and can be removed after the event. It will only be used to verify that somebody found your cache.

The whole idea is that nobody will be able to find all 30+ caches in the available time, so anywhere in Washington or Benton county is what I'm looking for.

These caches are intended to be permanent caches, so do them up just as you would normally. Remember, that people are going to have to choose the caches they can do for the event, so a difficult puzzle (possibly any puzzle) may not even get done by anybody for the event.

And by the way, to my knowledge, this "hiding caches for an event" hasn't been done in AR before.

Don't forget, once Chuck Walla has given the thumbs up to your cache hides, you need to PM or email me with the details (GC# and name) of the cache.

We now have a little over a week to get caches hidden for the event. Since we didn't have 10 people step up to support us in this effort, I'm asking that those who can hide an extra one or two. Don't forget to put your 3 digit code on the log sheet which will be used as a validator.

Finally, once hidden and submitted to CW, don't forget to send me the info by email or PM. Only those caches on the list I'll place on this site will be counted towards the "Dash for the Cache" contest.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to hide my caches. I just tried going out to one of the locations, and my car pretty much died for an hour. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to get to the event now. :( I'm sorry.
