Cheating

Postby OEnavigators » Tue Dec 04, 2007 10:13 pm

I was going over some caches for my sons and I to hunt in Van Buren and stumbled upon no less than nine bogus logs on the virtual Train Trex #7 (Van Buren Depot).

I have no idea why this irritates me so much. I hate cheaters. I mean why play? Can we bring this to Chuck's attention or something? :x

Feh! Europeans. I'm so going to flame them when I find it Thursday.[/vent]

:D Wow,it works. I feel better.

Cheating

This is just my two cents worth. It is a virtual cache, you can google it and see the train station, then click on nearest benchmarks, get the date from the benchmark that someone downloaded a picture of, so in a sense
you are "Virtually" there, when flaming the europeans be sure to start with the FRENCH.

I would almost go so far as to say that all virtuals should be archived. Many of them are owned by cachers who no longer cache and don't do the appropriate cache maintenance -- deleting the "bogus" logs.

I know the cache you're speaking of, we have done it ourselves. But, I'm unable to do the "certificate", because I don't have the applicable plug in for MSWord. But, I do have a picture of the benchmark disk.

I recently saw in the GS forums a complaint about a European who was logging virtuals in KS and MO on the same day he was logging caches in Germany. The bottom line, is its up to the cache owners to police there caches. To me, this situation isn't any different than the event or other cache owners who allow multiple "Found it" or "attended" logs.

As long as something is not "against the rules", there will be people who will do it. Even if it is "against the rules", some will find ways to do it anyway.
