cache container sizes

cache container sizes

Is there any rule of thumb about cache container size? Roughly what size range is a micro, or small container? I've found some medium size pill bottles called a micro. I've also found an Altroid can called a regular, and just what is a "other" ? I'm still new to this but really enjoy hunting caches and I'm going out everytime I get a chance.

You're right about there being a size range, and variances from different cache hiders.

From what I've seen out in our area...
Micro - 35mm film containers to anything smaller (bison tubes etc)
Small - anything larger than 35mm film containers up to a 32 oz. bottle sized container
Regular - 32 oz. bottle sized container to typical ammo cans
Large - I haven't seen/found a large yet, but a large ammo can or something bigger
Other - varies by cache... they're ususally something original, created by the cache owner, or deceptive in that they blend in with their surrounding really well.

But as I said at the top, there's a lot of variance from different cachers out there, so don't get frustrated if the cache isn't what you were originally looking for.

Welcome to the fourm by the way.
