"Behind the Falls" Cache -- Lake Ann Bella Vista

Postby ARLT1YJ » Wed Oct 29, 2008 7:42 am

Looking for a hint in help of finding this cache. I'm reluctant to admit that I spent two hours ( obsession I guess) looking up and down and all around the area and couldn't locate the cache. It's camoflauged, but I can't believe I didn't find a stinkin' ammo box!

Maybe if someone's in the area who's bagged it already could go by and make sure it's still there.... or just give me a better idea of where to look. There's about a 10' deep valley inbetween two ridges that run almost N and S above the falls. Another point of reference would be the critter hole that was published in the cache description. Thanks guys, anything would help.

If I recall correctly, it's no longer an ammo can. I see to remember a plastic tub of some sort.

If you're going up the valley, when you get to where your GPS points to the left, its behind a tree about halfway up the ridge.

That sounds about right. I think we followed the valley in and then went left up the ridge and at the top left about 20 or so feet. Plastic tub near a tree, covered with bark or sticks.

I think this one was an ammo can. I found this not too long ago. I remember it beng off to the right, back towards the falls. It is about 7 or 8 feet off the trail. Look for something natural this is a little out of place.

Another trick you can use. If you have not noticed already, there is usually a trail that leads right to any cache. This cache has one. It is not as well beaten as the main trail but should stand out like a sore thumb to a cacher.
