A Call to Arms

An area for upcoming events and "Cache Raids"

A Call to Arms

Postby *TnT* » Tue Jan 11, 2011 6:02 pm

We (*TnT*, ARLT1YJ, the5ts and mmannarch) are in the planning process for the 2011 version of "Dash For the Cache", undoubtedly the best event of the year. This year, as we did in the past, we're asking for volunteers to place caches for the event. We'll definitely need 5 people who can each place 3 caches in Washington County, and possibly one of two for placements in Benton County.

There will be specific guidelines for cache placement requirements and areas where we'll need the caches placed.

If you can help us out by placing 3 caches for the event, let me know by email to geotnt@yahoo.com or by PM through these forums.

The event this year will be at Memorial Park in Bentonville on April 16th. We'd like to see every active cacher in Benton and Washington counties there!!

There may be future calls to arm in the near future as we flesh out the details of our plans.

For those of us new to the forum, can you give some more info on what "Dash For the Cache" is?

It is a geocaching event. A gathering of geocachers for the purpose of the 4 F's -- Finds, Friends, Food and Fun. The event will be submitted this weekend for approval, at which time more details will be available. You could also check out the listing for last years event to get an idea.

Though I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend the event, I would be able to hide a few caches in the Fayetteville/Springdale area for it.

TNT and gang-- It would not be feasible for me to come up there and hide caches for your Dash For the Cache event. No way could I be responsible for the maintaince on them But I will be happy to donate a couple of door prizes to the event. I am looking forward to being there.

And we sure don't expect you to hide caches for us from way down there. We'll take the door prizes.

RIght now, we still need someone to hide caches in the western part of Washington county and the southern part of Benton county. I THINK all other areas are covered.

Adam,
The areas we need covered are probably outside of your area, but we do appreciate the offer. We'll sure take the decals for door prizes. Hope you get a chance to find the new caches that will be published that morning. We didn't get the chance to talk to you much at the event in Joplin, but we'll try to rectify that during this event.

We still need some help folks. We need someone willing to hide 3 caches in Western Washington county (Prairie Grove, Lincoln area). Who will do it?

If someone can/wants to do the Northern Washington county (which I'm signed up for), I could do Western Washington county instead if needed since I frequent both areas often.

Right now, I don't think we need any more in that area, but will surely keep it in mind.

Let's see if anyone steps up for W Washington. If I have to, I know of a couple of arms I can twist. Strangely enough, nobody else had yet offered to do N. Washington Cty.
